The K Woods Foundation was founded in August 2014, in memory of Mr Kenny Woods, by his son Adam, to raise funds and awareness in order to improve the lives of people living with Dementia within the Wirral area. We have to date raised more than £16,000, the majority of which has been donated to Dementia UK, to fund their work with people who live with Dementia and also their Admiral Nursing Program. We have also made some small donations of equipment to local care homes, so they could improve the quality of life for the individuals that use their service.
The Foundation has decided to change its operating status from one of a fund raising and supporting role to Dementia UK, to an independently functioning Charitable Incorporated Organisation (C.I.O.) in order to be able to better support those living with Dementia within the Wirral. This means we will be able to manage our own funds to cater services directly to the needs of those in our locality.
The Take That Experience – This is an annually held event which has been running for 3 years in order to raise funds for the foundation. Held at The Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, this event has gone from strength to strength each year.
